Albert & Victoria: The Coburg Connection
A celebratory gala concert to mark the 200th birthdays of Queen Victoria & Prince Albert.

The Royal Choral Society and the Coburg Philharmonic Orchestra join forces for a concert to celebrate the bicentenaries of Queen Victoria (24 May) and Prince Albert (26 August)

Queen Victoria was the Royal Choral Society’s first Patron and the choir was formed for the opening of the Royal Albert Hall in 1871

The concert programme features music by one of the royal couple’s favourite composers, Felix Mendelssohn, and a work by Prince Albert himself
The concert will be attended by the President of the Royal Choral Society His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent, and His Excellency the German Ambassador
Part of the V&A200 celebrations marking this historic year throughout the UK and in Coburg.
